Ceramic Fiber Gasket Tape

Ceramic fiber gasket tape is a fire-resistant sealing material made of high-purity aluminosilicate fibers, possessing excellent high-temperature resistance and thermal insulation properties. It is typically woven from ceramic fiber cotton reinforced with glass fiber or stainless steel wire, combining the flexibility and strength of ordinary textiles with outstanding high-temperature stability.

The core advantage of ceramic fiber gasket tape lies in its superior heat resistance. This product can withstand temperatures up to 1000℃, and even withstand 1260℃ for short periods. Simultaneously, it possesses a low thermal conductivity (approximately 0.040 W/(m·K) at room temperature) and extremely strong thermal shock resistance, maintaining structural stability even under drastic temperature changes. Furthermore, ceramic fiber gasket tape exhibits good chemical stability, resisting acid and alkali corrosion as well as erosion from molten metals such as aluminum and zinc.

The applications of ceramic fiber gasket tape are very wide. It is commonly used for thermal insulation of industrial kilns, high-temperature pipelines, and various thermal equipment. It is also suitable for sealing furnace doors, valves, and flanges, as well as for fireproof cable sheathing and filling high-temperature expansion joints. Whether used as compression sealing gaskets or for insulating cables and exhaust pipes, ceramic fiber tape performs exceptionally well.

When selecting and using it, it’s important to pay attention to the type of reinforcing material: glass fiber reinforced tape is suitable for environments around 550℃, while stainless steel wire reinforced tape is better suited for extreme conditions exceeding 1000℃. It’s worth noting that ceramic fiber tape contains approximately 15% organic fibers, and may exhibit brief smoke during initial high-temperature use. This is a normal process of organic fiber carbonization and does not affect subsequent performance.
