Refractory Products for Cracking Furnace Lining

The cracking furnace lining has high requirements for fire-resistant insulation materials, which need to have good air tightness and low thermal conductivity. Therefore, the furnace wall of the cracking furnace of a large ethylene cracking device adopts a lightweight brick structure in the burner airflow washout area, and other parts adopt a fire-resistant fiber and fiber module structure with good thermal insulation performance.

Since the operating conditions of each part are different, the fire-resistant insulation materials used are also different. During the construction of cracking furnace lining, it can be divided into four parts according to its structure: radiation chamber; transition section, convection section, flue, and chimney. The specific configuration of refractory insulation materials for each part is as follows:

1. Radiation Chamber
The radiation chamber is the heating reaction site for light hydrocarbons in the cracking medium. The furnace temperature is 1260°C. There are oil and gas burners on both sides of the wall and the bottom. The refractory insulation materials used in the bottom, side walls, and top of the radiant chamber are different.
A. The furnace bottom mainly uses insulation boards, insulation refractory bricks, refractory bricks, etc.
B. The side walls are made of ceramic fiber felt, insulation boards, refractory insulation bricks, fiber modules, hooks, hook fixing plates, and fiber module anchor nails.
C. The stove top mainly uses ceramic fiber felt, fiber modules, and fiber module anchoring nails.

2. Transition Section
Like the furnace wall of the radiant chamber, the side walls are installed with fiber modules, the modules in special-shaped parts are installed with specially designed modules, and the bottom lining structure is the same as the bottom of the radiant section furnace. Materials required for the transition section include ceramic fiber felt, insulation boards, refractory insulation bricks, fiber modules, and fiber module anchoring nails.

3. Convection Section
The side wall panels are prefabricated with refractory castables on the ground, with a thickness of 200mm. With 100mm thick insulation board as the backing, the end tube plate lining has been constructed at this time. The lining structure of the elbow box is 50mm thick (divided into two layers of 25mm) fiber blanket paving. The materials required for the side walls include ceramic fiber boards, castables, "Y"-shaped anchor nails, and "V"-shaped anchor nails. Elbow boxes require anchors and ceramic fiber felt.

4. Flue and Chimney
The lining structure of the chimney and flue is 50mm thick refractory castable. It requires the use of anchors and insulation castables.
